IPM1301 / IPM1401 Power Module

The IPM1xx1 is a fully integrated power module for use with the Bender ICC1314 charge controller. It replaces all standard components that are typically installed in conventional AC charging stations. It combines all relevant protection, control and power functions on a single circuit board. 

The modules in the IPM1xx1 series are available as circuit boards in a standardized size of 150 × 200 mm. In combination with the ICC1314, they enable the construction of wall boxes and charging stations with a charging capacity of up to 22 kW. 

The high level of integration significantly reduces the complexity of a charging station. 

This saves space and simplifies production. Further Bender charging products in standard sizes will follow, enabling charging station manufacturers to adapt their products for different applications and charging scenarios without having to change the housing. 

The IPM1301 and IPM1401 variants are the first versions in this series and offer a particularly simple and efficient solution for the development and production of AC charging stations. 

The module contains an integrated power supply unit for supplying the charge controller; no separate DC power supply is required. 

The IPM1xx1 series offers a comprehensive electrical safety concept with, for example, measuring current transformers and protective conductor monitoring, and allows the monitoring of voltage, phase angle and frequency.  

An integrated temperature sensor also allows the device temperature to be monitored via the charge controller. 

Notes

  • IPM1301 and IPM1401 are used in combination with the ICC1314-Connect-Plus charge controller (B94060071).
  • The compact version IPM1300 is used with the charge controllers ICC1314-Connect-Plus-G1 (B94060030) and ICC1314-Companion-G1 (B94060031).

Features

  • Integrated DC power supply via AC mains connection, no separate power supply required 
  • Can be used for charging stations and wall boxes up to 22 kW in single-phase or three-phase networks up to 3 x 32 A 
  • Integrated residual current transformer with ICC1314 charge controller provides 6 mA DC fault current detection in accordance with IEC 62955 
  • Monitoring of protective earth conductor or PE connection without additional wiring 
  • Monitoring of the 3-phase system: rotating field, voltage and mains frequency can be monitored and transmitted in the charge controller. 
  • Additional temperature sensors increase operational reliability and fail-safety 
  • Supplements the charge controller with a three-phase power relay and additional phase connection for the IPM1401 
  • Integrated monitoring of the relay contacts (weld check) enables evaluation by the charge controller
