Managing Director of Bender UK Steve Mason has been chosen to head up Bender Americas, the Bender Group’s US business division, and takes up his new post on May 1st 2016.

Bender UK Operations Manager Gareth Brunton will be the new Managing Director.

Based at the company’s US headquarters in Philadelphia, Steve Mason will have responsibility for North America, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, reporting directly to Bender Group CEO Dr Dirk Pieler.

Dr Pieler commented: “Over more than six years as MD of Bender UK, Steve has consistently proven his leadership competence. There is no doubt in my mind that Steve’s personality, knowledge and experience will be extremely valuable for Bender Inc.”

Since 2010 the business has grown 20% year on year, extending its stake in existing markets while breaking into new business areas with bespoke applications of Bender’s high technology solutions. Steve has also overseen development of Bender UK’s 2,500 m2 new business premises in South Cumbria, which is set to complete in summer 2016.

Steve is looking forward to the new challenges of the Americas operation. He explained: “Bender in America encompasses a huge market – both in terms of the scope for expansion, and the size of the territory. I will be seeking to introduce some of the strategies which have proved so successful in the UK, taking into account the many significant differences in the US.

“The company prides itself on identifying and fostering business talent, and we have a good team in place already. The challenge now is help the business realise its full potential in the face of tough market conditions.”

New UK Managing Director Gareth Brunton joined Bender UK in 2003 and has made a significant contribution to the growth of the business, particularly in the medical sector.

Steve adds: “Having worked for so long with Gareth building the UK team I am confident that Bender UK will be in safe hands to enter a new era of expansion and continued profitability under his direction.”
